Working from home has become the new normal in the midst of a global pandemic, and even though I’ve been doing a lot of #workfromhome before COVID-19, I’m even busier now that social distancing has gone global. The best of all is, with the help of mindful planning and boundaries, I’ve managed to be super productive, and I haven’t gone crazy either.

WANT TO KNOW HOW I MANAGE IT? Here are a few tips to help you stay productive whilst keeping your wits about you.

  • Prioritise Yourself – Meaning, make time to take time out, walk around, exercise, play with your kids, or watch a funny video online. Also, reaching out to your social circle in this time is crucial to help keep you grounded (and to keep you from talking to yourself the whole time.)
All of these little steps will help you avoid burn out, and you’ll still be useful to your clients and loved ones.

  • Set Boundaries – In other words, schedule your workload in timeframes, as you would in a normal office environment. Do away with the distractions (I know with kids it’s not always impossible) and try to limit your workspace to one place at home. You don’t want your monthly reports to end up as canvases or underplates.
Also, don’t work on weekends. This is time for family, and rest, and self. As much as your work and children need boundaries, your personal self also needs them.

Still think it’s harder than it sounds? No sweat!
